QsNet Drivers and Libraries
This the complete set of software needed to use the Quadrics' QsNet Interconnect on a Linux cluster. It is all Open Source. The Open Source release is provided "as is" without any warranty; without even the implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Details of official support are given at the bottom of the page.
For the added-value RMS cluster management suite, see below.
Please see the Quadrics Linux Cluster Installation for details of the componets and suggested installation proceedure.
Note: Quadrics MPI includes versions compiled with both GNU and Intel compilers.
Note: Release notes are contained within the RPMs in /usr/share/doc. |
Quadrics Linux Kernel Integration
After downloading the drivers, you will need to build the kernel modules for your current Linux kernel. A script in the qsnetmodules package is provided for this. It is also recommended but not mandatory that you first patch your linux kernel with the patches provided on this website.
Quadrics Kernel Modules
Whether or not you have applied the Quadrics Kernel patches to your Linux kernel, you will need to build the Quadrics kernel modules against a Linux kernel source tree which exactly corresponds to the Linux kernel installed on the nodes into which you have installed the QsNet hardware.
The QsNet Kernel Modules are provided as Open Source and come in the form of a qsnetmodules tar archive downloadable from the table above.
Quadrics Kernel Patches
Quadrics provides some patches to the Linux Kernel. These are optional but recommended since they provide extra functionality and a small improvement in performance.
The QsNet Linux Kernel Patches page provides full information including which Linux distrutions and kernels are provided for.
Note:The Quadrics Linux Kernel Integration document provides a full description of the Quadrics kernel modules and patches, and describes the steps involved in building and installing them.
