Software Engineers (UK - Bristol Office)


Senior Software Engineer (Firmware)

Quadrics Ltd. is looking for candidates to join its core software team based in Bristol, UK.

For Ethernet products, their main duties will be to code and test firmware components and to integrate them into the existing software framework. They will also be responsible for integration of third party device drivers and application firmware to deliver a high port count Ethernet switch product to market.
For QsNet products their main duties will be to code and test the firmware and control components for High Performance Computing platforms.

Minimum experience: Graduate with 2-3 years experience.

Minimum job requirements are:

  • University Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related subject
  • Excellent working knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of C programming language
    Working knowledge of embedded systems
  • Ability to consistently work to timescales and complete tasks promptly
  • Excellent communication skills both with other team members and customers
  • Highly self organized with good record keeping, reporting and technical discipline

    Other beneficial skills include:

  • Knowledge of U-Boot
  • Knowledge of tool-chains and cross-compilation
  • Previous experience with large Ethernet switches or HPC clusters
  • Knowledge of formal software design processes
  • Professional certifications or qualifications in a related subject
  • Proven ability to support other team members to achieve common goals


  • Software Engineer (Network Management and Diagnostic Software)

    Quadrics Ltd. is looking for a candidate to join its core software team based in Bristol, UK.
    Main duties will be to design, code and test software components running on embedded processors within the network and to integrate these into the Management Front End to provide control, monitoring and diagnostic tools. These tools are used to identify faults in single network components and to monitor and control very large, high-performance network behaviour.

  • Software Engineer (Open Fabrics)

    Quadrics Ltd. is looking for candidates to join its core software team based in Bristol, UK. The successful candidates will be working in an experienced group to deliver kernel communication support for Quadrics' next generation of interconnect - QsNet III. The objective of this group is to deliver a scalable, high performance Open Fabrics implementation in order to support the Lustre filesystem on very large scale clusters.
