Quadrics 'Hawk' Release
Quadrics is pleased to announce the availablity of our new software release, Hawk, available immediately supporting Intel IA32, IA64 and EM64T and AMD Opteron CPUs. The 'Hawk' release offers the following features:
Kernel Releases
Support for 2.6 kernels
Integration of Quadrics patches separated from modules
Kernel Modules
Support for single-copy process to process memory copies without the need for shared memory fifos, significantly improving the performance of intra-node MPI
Single source tree for patched and unpatched kernels
Modules built outside the kernel - no kernel rebuild required to upgrade modules
Libraries
Improved latencies, 1.4 microsecs MPI ping-pong latency measured on Opteron nodes
Optimisations to barrier, broadcast, gather, reduce and alltoall improving the performance and scalabilty of parallel jobs
RMS
Support for dynamically adding or removing nodes from running partitions
PMI support, allowing MPI-2 jobs to run under RMS
CPUSET support (see www.bullopensource.org/cpuset for details)
The new release also includes improved support for third party products including Rocks and Sun Grid Engine. The Quadrics Roll for Rocks can be downloaded from here.
