Hardware Engineer (Verification Engineers - Silicon Design Group)

Quadrics Ltd. is looking for number of candidates to join its silicon design team based in Bristol, UK. The successful candidates will be working in an experienced group to deliver communication devices Quadrics' next generation of interconnect - QsNet III. Their main duties will be to be involved in the specification of, verification, debugging and testing of hardware components prior to and after their shipment to manufacturing.

Minimum job requirements are:
University Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related subject
Working knowledge of C language and Unix
Ability to consistently work to timescales and complete tasks promptly
Excellent communication skills both with other team members and customers
Highly self organised with good record keeping, reporting and technical discipline
Other beneficial skills include:
- Knowledge of Verilog language
- Knowledge of common verification languages and techniques
- Knowledge of formal verification tools
- Professional certifications or qualifications in a related subject
- Proven ability to support other team members to achieve common goals

Hardware Engineer (contract)
Candidates are kindly requested to submit directly their resume.
Main duties will be to perform hardware design from realisation to product. This will involve identification and investigation of market leading technology & product design.
This is an active engineering role and will include:
Generation and issue of design specifications
Microprocessor-based design
PLD-based design
High-speed logic design
Schematic and netlist generation
Design for regulatory approval - EMC and Safety
Interfacing with external PCB layout design services
Interfacing with external mechanical design resources
Board bring-up, test and debug
Minimum requirements are:
5+ years hardware development experience
Strong CPLD, FPGA, PLD experience
The candidate needs to be highly self-motivated and be prepared to work on specification, design, implementation and final deployment into our manufacturing sites
Must have the ability to analyse, troubleshoot and identify the root cause of any failures and drive issues to closure with preventive measures and subsequent fix
Working knowledge of Power PC embedded processors
Working knowledge of all aspects of embedded systems
Other beneficial skills include:
- Professional certifications or qualifications in a related subject
- VHDL/Verilog experience
- Experience in hardware development for high performance network switching
